Product Description
Shorter, 8" long, clear plastic rainstick, with colorful plastic beads. Special prisms in the walls of the instrument create a rainbow of colors as the beads cascade through the tube. My nine-month-old grandson LOVES this rainmaker! It's really easy for him to hold, shake, and turn upside down. It also rolls! He is fascinated with the SOFT sounds it makes and with the colors and designs he sees. Adult family and friends are also amazed with it and can often be seen turning it up and down! I think it reminds them of the kaleidoscopes they enjoyed during their own childhoods. It's a great toy at a great price!

I bought this rainmaker for my 9 month old son after we played with one similar to it in his Babytalk class. The one in his class was about half the size in length of this one so it was easier for him to handle. That would be the only thing that I would change about this rainmaker - make it half as long. But as he gets older it will be easier for him to manage. Otherwise, he really enjoys playing with the rainmaker and I love it too!

We bought this for our daughter's 1st birthday and we love it! So much fun to play with...even our older kids like it. I wasn't sure if this size would be too small, but its perfect. I wouldn't want it any larger.

I may enjoy playing with this more than my grandson will when I give it to him. It seemed like a good idea for him when I ordered it, but he has not seen it yet, and I am wondering whether, at one year old, he is already too old for it. It is entertaining to tip it and watch it and listen to it. Once you start, it is hard to stop! It does seem to me that it could have used something to grip it better with - a handle of some sort, perhaps. NOTE: IF YOU ARE PURCHASING THIS AS A GIFT, you should know that this arrived in a clear plastic wrap with no description (age appropriate, etc.) on it. You might want to print the description on this page and give it with the toy so parents get an idea of what the toy is all about - and whether or not it is considered safe for their child's age.
