Product Description
Interesting, enjoyable, and challenging activities to help teach higher level mathematics
Here is a collection of math activities that support the NCTM standards and encourage problem-solving, high-level reasoning, and analytical skills—and are stimulating, interesting, and fun for students. The book includes activities covering geometry, measurement, algebra, statistics and probability, trigonometry, calculus, and more. Featuring a complete answer key to each section, this resource will be a valuable addition to a high school instructor's everyday materials.

Judith A. Muschla and Gary Robert Muschla (East Brunswick, NJ), both teachers of mathematics, have coauthored numerous resources for teachers, including The Math Teacher's Book of Lists (0-1325-5910-2) and Hands-On Math Projects with Real-Life Applications (0-1303-2015-3).

4 out of 5 stars Good, but not games   January 2, 2010
Game Lady Lisa
As previous reviewers have noted, this is a book of worksheets, not games. Those hoping for math games should look elsewhere, such as Family Math : The Middle School Years, Algebraic Reasoning and Number Sense. That being said, this is a good book to use for extra practice and/or review of skills. It is well organized, so it is easy to find a worksheet on, for instance, the order of operations. I use it frequently in my tutoring of jr. high and high school students, a group for which it is often difficult to find materials.

I purchased for my girlfriend during her student teaching. She was able to use alot of the information in this book to bring the fun back to math. It helped her motivate the students.

I like this book and highly recommend anything by the Muschla's. But this is a book of worksheets, not games. It does contain entertaining and challenging worksheets that are useful in the classroom. I more often will use their Algebra Teacher's Activity Kit or the Geometry Teacher's Activity Kit.

5 out of 5 stars Not really games, but still great!   February 5, 2009

These are not "games" like you might imagine. They are simply interesting math problems. It's a great resource!
