Best game ever! March 18, 2010 Library Lady (Jacksonville, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Family game night is a long-running tradition in my family, but sometimes it's hard to find something everyone can play and that everyone will like. Catch Phrase is the perfect choice! My children are college-aged now and out on their own, but even now, when they come over and bring their friends for dinner, they have already prepared their guests that after dinner is "Catch Phrase" time. No coaxing necessary. We even have a "Hall of Fame/Shame" for the funniest clues/answers/mis-reads. We've played it so much, we've gone through all the cards. Would be great if Parker Brothers sold sets with new words and phrases.
We've introduced the game to so many friends and relatives, I'm sure we're responsible for numerous households purchasing the game. However, I will say, the traditional version is more difficult to find in stores than the electronic version. Where we live, only Target carries the traditional game. Some of our friends and relatives could only find the electronic version & said they didn't like it as well. We have both versions and find we never play the electronic one -- it's just not the same for us -- maybe because we started off playing the traditional version?? Guess it's just personal preference.
Oh, and by the way, at the high school where I teach, I introduced the game to some of our academic coaches and teachers, who LOVED it. We are in the process of adapting it to use in the classroom. We have mostly struggling readers, and this game really forces them to be verbal and to think about the meanings and context of a wide array of words and phrases. And the random timer evens the playing field for the weaker players. Trying to find or create a card template to work with so we can customize the game for various content areas (science, American History, etc.).
This is the funnest game! January 30, 2010 Nancy S. Sutton (San Clemente, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
"Catch Phrase" is the funnest game! A relative brought this game over at Christmas time and we had a blast playing it so I ended up buying it for our family. It doesn't take any particular skill to play, is fast paced and you end up laughing the whole time you're playing. It made our holiday even more special. You don't have a set time to play so you can play for as little or long as you want and it's easy to play and enjoyable for all age groups. My 80 year old mother had as much fun playing as our teenage son. I highly recommend this for any family gathering.

I was very pleased with the item I ordered...it was like brand new. It was in excellent shape. It arrived on time, even earlier then I expected...
A BLAST!! May 13, 2009 Colleen Jordan (Bangor, ME) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game is SO fun. We have played it will all adults and with teens and adults mixed and it's just a blast. The only "downside" is that my throat always hurts the next morning from yelling and laughing!! ;-)
If you like quiet, gentle games... this is not the game for you!
Fun, but try iShout for the iPod and iPhone. February 18, 2009 John Mayer 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really love catch phrase but this is extremely limited in comparison to iShout for the iPod and iPhone. Either way you will enjoy this game but you have alot more playability out of the iPod version.
